I was also around for the returns in the mid-2000s.* Interestingly, I have since done considerably better holding the companies that LSX divested than holding LSX over this period. Investing in risk is all ok providing the risk-reward ratio is there, for the last 12 years risk for what reward? Not great when you consider the time/lost opportunity cost.
Like you, I am optimistic about Pani's prospects, however, I do remember LSX management waxing lyrical about the prospects of EGA and NUS also and we know how cheaply LSX managers were happy to exit those investments. You sound very patient, I hope for your sake you are a young man.
