Not sure why you invest but I invest to make money. Apart from excluding a few companies for a variety of reasons I really don't expect a significantly different long term return from established or emerging companies over time.
If anything I expect a HIGHER return from the emerging company on a 10-year timeframe to compensate for the added risk.
As for remunerating a small Cap Fund manager I'd do it against a Small Cap Index (like for like). There are any number of peers for MSB in the small Cap health space, pretty much all dwarf the return MSB has delivered.
