"Mind you .... each variant gets weaker as time goes on and herd immunity takes over.". its a nice idea and it certainly happened that way with SARS in '03.... but you know the line about past performance. and viruses just aren't that predictable. Influenza has never been able to the contained because it keeps changing enough to reproduce. sometimes its a worse killer, sometimes less slow.
and this is likely with covid19. other variants have been numbered but haven't had the ability to reproduce as effectively and have dropped off the list, others are on the rise. its just like everything else in a state of flux.
the S spike shift to allow the virus to pass any immune response is worrying. there are more to come SG.....
