So Telstra have not bought any shares back thus far in 2022 - coincidently the Nasdaq started dropping on Jan 4 - the first day Telstra could have bought [but did not] Since Nasdaq continues to drop then Telstra may hold off on further buybacks until market stabilizes.
Whilst I do expect buybacks to recommence in January, it remains to be seen what happens in 2nd half of Feb when divi is in play
