The interesting comparison is that Silver Lake has invested about the same (actually a bit less to date, at around $100 million Canadian) in the Harte acquisition. Time will tell whether SLR's relatively-risky big move (assuming it closes, and we'll know by week's end if SLR got out-bid) works out better than RMS's more conservative one. I certainly don't know myself. 797k @ 7.2g/t P&P reserves, 81k hectacre claims, working mill, BUT it's bankrupted and 'confluxed' some pretty solid mining leaders, including Rene Marion who invested $25 million of New Gold's cash - and promptly lost it.
