Scouring South Korean news brought up some interesting points. This agreement with Liontown is being hailed as the "first" offtake LG has signed for spod concentrates specifically, all others had been hydroxide or brine concentrates. Highlighted "first" as this technically isn't true as I know at least one spod offtake LG has from a small (~10MT resource) miner/developer in Brazil but the deal with LTR must be being considered a game changer domestically.
lots of statements being thrown around - like South Korea hopes this deal with provide a safety net on the lithium supply chain and end over reliance on China for its supply - 83.5% of South Korea's lithium hydroxide currently coming from China and LTR will decrease this significantly etc. etc.
