Everyone has their own methods, some like to use stop losses, others like to get 'free carried' by selling some and holding the rest long term. I like to sell in 25%-50% lots, to lock in profit and stop one stock from becoming too large a proportion of my portfolio. At the moment I have less than half of what I originally owned, but I am very happy with the amount of profit I have taken and I am comfortable with the amount I currently own.
