On what grounds can he decide to cancel the visa?
Mr Hawke can’t just decide to cancel Djokovic’s visa because he feels like it, there’s a list of reasons in the Migration Act and he has to be satisfied at least one of those applies. The most relevant here is s116(e) which says “the presence of its holder in Australia is or may be, or would or might be, a risk to (i) the health, safety or good order of the Australian community or a segment of the Australian community”.
That’s the same reason referenced by the immigration delegate who made the original cancellation.
