CWE in mid-Oct foreshadowed an announcement as to whether its first large-scale commercial demonstration project will be located in Australia. Could this hint at a plan B elsewhere?
CWE has a stated strategic aim to become a global electricity utility.
CWE has acquired REH’s development opportunity pipeline in the Northern Hemisphere, which is a much larger market for electricity than in the Southern Hemisphere.
CWE has assumed “rights and obligations under JV license agreement with French co EDF EN to own and operate CETO projects in N. Hemisphere.”
To quote Prof David Harries, of WA’s Murdoch Uni: The CETO is very different to other technologies being developed, and if Carnegie’s plan to build a 50 MW wave power station is realised it will make the company a world leader.”
There is nothing to constrain this vision to Australia or the Southern Hemisphere, now that it owns the Northern Hemisphere rights to CETO technology also.
