Gamestop cant happen in Australia, we have laws on leverage, so you could never get a company being shorted past 100%. And as for pump n dump groups, usually they need to do it on a company that is particularly low float, ie smaller MC companies - Not QPM size.
And there is a reason they are called pump n dump groups - Its much easier to pump a stock up and then sell at the top, than it is to downramp a stock into a buy!
