Actually that practice is exactly what has been behind the measured rise in IQ over the last 60 odd years (the Flynn effect)..seems we were measuring low value improvement in scores due to our better/more versed ability to push buttons etc. yes IQ test are really that high in resolution no matter what the crazies say about them not being reflective of the magical "special types" of IQ.

All the while the high value scores were probably quietly declining all along......the averaged person in Victorian England for example put us all in this country to shame IQ wise.,,,they were probably happier as a group also.
