Yep. It's a big IF, alright, but the likelihood of it being correct seems to me to be reasonably high. To refute that likelihood one would have to be not just super cautious but downright paranoid about both the company's capabilities and integrity.

Essentially what I hear the company saying is:- "This is a company where a lot of the company's share capital is owned by people who have key roles and key stakes in the company's management. We have now completed development to a stage that we have engaged a manufacturer to whom we have made a legal commitment to pay for them to produce a large volume of finished product to our specifications using our instructions. If we are wrong that will cost us personally a lot of money, especially if they then prove to be faulty. We have done this because we are confident of the success of all the development work we have done to date. The fabricator we have contracted with has been involved in producing some of the prototypes and we have tested them and satisfied ourselves that they do what we expect and want them to do. Assuming there are no further problems we do not know about, from here to the time we get product ready to sample out and offer as a product is now only a matter of timing."

Essentially what I hear the company's detractors suggesting is:- "The company is either stupid or duplicitous. They do not have and never have had a product that works. They have lied about what they have demonstrated. Their product is impossible. It is always a long way off, and will never be ready. Their IP is not safe. They cannot be trusted and you are stupid to trust them. If you trust them you will never get your investment back. Trust us, we know all this is true, but we cannot tell you how or why. Please sell your shares in it ASAP. We are smarter than you, and we will never buy in (no honestly!)."

You may be hearing something different to me, so you have to make your own decisions about the likelihoods of either possibility. Yep. It's a big IF to get wrong. So DYOR.
