The share are so tightly held, that a steady drop in the last 2 months represents what? how many shares traded hands?

I agree, management needs to kick into commercialisation mode, they need to get their act in gear and start selling while still continuing their R&D on other projects.

But when average volume of daily shares traded represents much less than $50k per day, huge fluctuations represent nothing more than a couple of small holders getting impatient.

TLDR:
Don't sweat the SP at this stage. Management is currently meeting the goals they've set for themselves, but they are not coming off as aggressive enough.
