PP yes they're production costs may be cheaper but the overall purity of the final product is also inferior.

For example the residue lithium carbonate remaining after the evaporation would not be suitable to export to Toyota or Toshiba for use in batteries, These companies would have to process it further to make it an acceptable purity to be used in their batteries.

There are a range of lithium consumers who require different products and purities. Its no problem to produce any of them from brine as the major producers do presently, its still cheaper than spodumene conversion.

"The other thing is I'd rather have my lithium produced in China rather than "stable" south America simply because its closer to the end user and more clients can be generated faster in bustling Asia."

Why would you care where its produced? Its a relatively high value commodity, shipping costs are negligible.

"From your post it sounds like your angry and therefore probably hold ORE shares."

I do hold ORE shares but why would I be angry? I have no problem with their past performance or future outlook, nor am I emotionally attached. You're not the first poster to try a childish personal attack when I've questioned the fundamentals here. Why not try doing a bit of research and then you may up to playing the ball instead of the man.
