When surgeons perform a SAVR operation they can align the implanted valve with the patient's native valve. Previously, before DurAVR, TAVR devices COULD NOT do this reliably or deliberately. So one advantage a surgical aortic valve replacement SAVR had over a transcatheter aortic valve replacement TAVR was that they could implant the valve in its correct position.

If DurAVR can ALSO do this that advantage that SAVR previously had over TAVR is now gone which is why I said that the DurAVR could cannibalise a large portion of the SAVR market.
