I much prefer the equipment sales in this case, as it helps with cash flow.
Once the ~$5m of operating costs are covered and there's no cash drain, rentals are likely the better option given they're higher margin.

Agree with everything in your post but historically they had a lot of trouble relying on consistent sales, it was either feast or famine.

My view is that the health and value of the business long term will be more aligned to the strength and growth of those underlying, recurring metrics.
