We only feel good when the other person meets our needs, right? Otherwise there would be no need for a marriage, we'd just hang out with this person or that, depending on a whim.
So if the breadwinner loses his job or the wife has a horrible accident and loses her looks, the "love" strangely disappears. Why pretend that you love someone when all you really want is to have your needs met?
