Sort of agree, it's been a hard place for ruling politicians this last 2 years...super hard actually..The good thing about Mossison is his morality..he actually tries here and is witness to it via his Christianity which is a measured moral place...trouble is as recognisable via the more psychotic in behaviour church with which he identifies.
Now all ideologies seek first a message given in a style that appeals to the majority of personality traits that exist..for instance Islam hold a great number of more and more psychotic churches of Islam there are literally so many of them...this technique is necessary otherwise any church faces a struggle for followers.
Now because of this Morrison does make poor choices sometimes siding with those higher in psychopathy and antisocially/prosociality than the one his church would scripture (I expect).
one instance of when psychoiticism instead of innate morality got the better of him was his affirmation in Parliament that white lives do not matter and just lately the expulsion of the Serbian tennis player..been a few notable other ones as well but overall low..nowhere as low a Tony A though.
Bloke is moral /low psychopathy being no doubt about it and with help from his church to show him the general way esp compared to his major political competition where the whole gambit of psychosocial elements are in play at all times (it's a church all on it's own) for this alone is what appeals to the majority progressive voter.
No one is perfect...but I want Abbot back..a solid high phenotype leader...Morrison should have been on the phone often to Tony this last 2 years.

It has always been easier to define what a leader is not
than characterise what leadership is.
It is important to know that a leader has principles
and is not a jelly backed chameleon. But inflexibility
is not a virtue either.
Leadership is only easy to recognise in retrospect
but resuscitating someone from the past (if you could)
may still fail as leadership qualities change with new
circumstances.
It is important, also, to recognise the difference between
leadership and management. That's why a ship needs
a Captain and a First Officer.
