CBA and a lot of quality securities will be dragged down in any sell off. So one should understand that the market could pull back 10 or 15% and occasionally much more...
However, one should fear nothing because quality securities tend to fall less and recover first. You can look at March 2020 for a more recent occurrence of that. As I've been saying in these treads for years now, temporary period of price weakness should be used to add more quality securities to your holding.
Then again maybe that's just me these days, it is a rare breed and quite extraordinary to hold securities for decades. If you want extraordinary returns then you just need to buy quality and hold long enough to take advantage of compound accretion. It is that simple and is far more important than timing.
