DRC-USA bilateral relations: Prime Minister Sama Lukonde exchanges with Ambassador Mike Hammer
Prime Minister Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde Kyenge received, this Friday, January 21, 2022, in his office at the prime minister's office, the American ambassador to the DRC, Mike Hammer to talk about bilateral relations between their two countries and discuss on issues of peace, security and the fight against terrorism, prosperity, climate issues and the preservation of the environment, diplomatic issues, and development.

I have come to discuss with the Prime Minister how to continue to advance our bilateral relations, our privileged partnership to advance peace, prosperity, and the preservation of the environment. We have a very busy schedule. I just came back from the USA where I had meetings with the White House, the State Department, and my colleagues in Washington. There is a lot of interest in moving our relationship forward,” he said upfront.The two statesmen also scrutinized the security situation and the fight against terrorism in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

We discussed the possible high-level visit by American personalities. There is a lot of interest in the DRC now following the leadership of President Tshisekedi and the importance of this country in Africa with the end of President Tshisekedi's term as head of the African Union.
