In relation to transitioning, you won't get people to change their ways in large numbers in they present system. How many people have switched to public transport from inefficient vehicles? Less with covid lol. In heat waves, do people smash their aircon or use efficient fans?

Also, EVs produce so much human suffering in battery material mining and then years later waste with expired batteries. Cars are not the biggest cause of greenhouse issues, it's construction. Steel and concrete manufacturing use massive amounts of energy and emit CO2 in massive quantities.

The other thing is crypto mining energy consumption (but that problem looks to be taking care of itself this weekend lol)...

Travel with aircraft creates a substantial level of emissions. How many people will stop their holidays because they've worried about cooking us all? Likely none.

If there is a total economic slowdown, would this not reduce global warming for a period of time? From this position we could rebuild the system with clean energy processes. In an economic crash, people's expectations would change from present of plenty and 'don't need to worry about that stuff' and could be reprogrammed (eg travel isn't good - in another crash tourism related industry is finished forever) when you're whole purpose of survival is food. (It's starting to sound a bit like China control over people). This could be another reason to crash the markets... For our own good
