In theory yes.
But, a listed company must have 101 plausible reasons why not informing the market immediately was not possible/prudent/necessary.
They can't delay forever, but there must be some wriggle room.
And it's only going to be investigated if some harm was done (a complaint lodged) or it was exceedingly obvious the company dragged the chain.
