Nickel is an important component in stainless steel, used a lot in housing/consumer products and marine (both industries in a slump).
Perhaps cost cutting has reduced the usage of stainless?
Storage tanks use a lot of stainless, perhaps growth projects (ie new staorage tanks) are not on the increase?
