imo only, "national pride" has been fostered every Aus day ..... but it has seemed to me that since early 2000's it has become much more jingoistic, Anglo-focussed, although still reporting new citizenships - a bit like a monthly role count of newly proselytised religious adherents, and lastly rejection of our full history, with preference for the sanitised version that paints colonisation in a positive light bland beige.
Aus day has ignored the first Australians' plight with MSM news reports often colouring Aboriginal claims as rent-seeking.
These last years there is very little to feel "pride" wrt how our nation is fairing.
