Hi Plough, I'm not being a pessimist. Once commissioning has been completed, the plant will then be ramped up, so allowing that most crops will be sown in mid May to late June, KLL is unlikely to fill much of the market without a stockpile of product to access. The timeframe seems too tight to me, and that's if there are no issues.
I read a copy of Elders Weekly last year (Oct I think) where they mentioned Kalium having the SOP for the coming season, but that was when everything looked great and commissioning was just starting. One of the main benefits of SOP was for broadacre farming where a quarter of all the land in WA is salt affected to some degree.
The salt affected land is a growing problem and therefore a good opportunity for KLL to supply a suitable local product. Traditionally most SOP has been used on fruit and vegetable crops, or other high value produce. With cereal crop prices showing good returns, now seems like an ideal time to access broadacre farming.
