We have all noticed an increase in the publicly announced valuation talk. While this could be and may be seen as irrational exuberance by some it is very deliberate and planned. To me it has two main purposes:

One is to send a message to potential acquirers that we realise and understand 100% how valuable DurAVR is. So don’t even bother low balling as we are educating all of our shareholder base as well.

Two to indicate to the market that the incredible results have increased their confidence as an Ad Board and management team in DurAVR taking significant market share once it is commercialised.

In other words they know it would be the valve of choice beyond refute with the data we have and will generate huge attention, market share and revenue going forward.
Wayne is definitely down playing the $20 billion plus potential company valuation (after a few years of commercialisation) because quite frankly, the market simply would not (and does not) believe it. Yet it’s entirely possible.

Of course this talk is designed to ensure we get as much as possible if acquired but we can only expect such numbers if we were able to commercialise and make sales on our own and we would then attract that sort of money for an acquisition. (Make no mistake we will be acquired either way IMO).

I highly doubt given the major players history we will ever see this but we will see significantly more than we are worth today. Edwards will not stand by and let 80% of its business erode and Medtronics would love the chance to nail Edwards. Remembering that the head of MDT structural heart is an ex AVR Ad board and DurAVR contributor Dr Jeffrey Popma.

Exciting times ahead.

There is certainly a large incentive for the CEO to maximise the return to shareholders. He is holding a total of 412,415 shares and options. Multiply that by a potential takeover price and it makes your eyes water. I say good luck to him. He has earned it and shareholders will be the beneficiaries.
