Over 2,000 covid deaths per day in the US are largely Omicron related. Ditto the curr3nt high death rates in Australia and most other developed countries.

Don’t be lulled, Omicron is not “mild”.

And for context that is from around 500k cases per day. its mild however if you end up hospitalized for covid your chances are the same for any other variants
