Butcherboy, I think they gave preference to people who held stock on allocating the shortfall, I picked up 1 mil units which was slightly less than my holding at the time of application/processing. That was my application filled - no refund. I suspect If I had applied for more units than I held, the application may not have been fully filled. I actually rang the registry to try and get a ballpark figure of what was worth applying for, so as to avoid tying up capital unnecessarily, they were unable to give any guidance or indication on how the allocation would work.
The above rationale is only guesswork, so dont take it as fact.
