I find it a little hypocritical to say that "some people can't stand the truth" (because they became offended by someone offending their religion) yet there must be a dozen moreons in here at least who S C R E A M blue murder if some attacks what the whitehouse or Sharon is doing or what the fundamentalist "Christian" nutters are doing world-wide.

Rushdie wrote a damning book about Islam.He not only attacked the religion -many other books have done that before and since- but he had attacked their major prophet Mohammed. Many Islamists have taken this to be yet another very personal, Christian attack on their religion. The Christians would be doing exactly the same thing if a muslim had attacked the pope or the Archbishop of any of the other Sects.
That book was, to my mind, most probably the turning point in the relations betweet east and west.
It seems many in the west can't keep their ugly finger nails to themselves and they are constantly scratching other people's bodies. Abrassive bastards, they scratch and scratch until even humans with the tranquil disposition of a butterfly will get angry; and still they scratch and yell and bark left right and centre without realising taht they're the ones who are making the noise. What does it take for these morons to wake up enough to realise that?
