Thanks to all 3-4 who answered on Royalties, now think have a handle on it.

That is huge. Guessed it was prior royalties claimed to be underpaid. So financially the situation is better than thought. They did a deal that cost money up front but makes teh future better. The bad is what you disclosed they were not totally honest overall on the matter, also getting in legal problems is a bad idea although they came out this time.
