I haven't done a fact checking mission to come up with evidence of lies myself, but they have eroded trust and good will. Once that is gone it's very hard to get it back. Many people dont feel they can trust the reassurances provided by management (especially when these reassurances aren't written in a particularly reassuring way!) and this is reflected in the share price.
