The Australian car makers were subsidized by the Commonwealth and tariff's, once they were taken away that was the end. I think the last washing machine made here was about 10 years ago.
I think the electrolyte is 30% -35% of the cost of a battery.
Also battery grade vanadium pentoxide has a premium of around 20%.AIMO
