I wouldn't be surprised if the appointment of the next CEO does not happen until the preferred strategic direction is known - then a CEO with the most suitable skill set can be sought.
They probably have a short list - and even if you were in a potential CEO's position - you would probably want to know which strategic direction they are likely to go in. eg is EXT going to be the actual operator of a possible JV - or will a large major be the operator ... and EXT undertake continued drilling and other investments elsewhere?
There are many possiblities and it is crucial to all of us that they get the right skill set in a CEO IMO.
