It's certainly an interesting idea. Not for the current range of course, where a major feature is that the application can run on standard smartphones without additional hardware.
But once the credentials are established of diagnostic acoustic analysis, there's plenty of scope for much more powerful equipment based in the clinic with the ability to detect and track more subtle signals indicating severity, progression, complication, and locality of target conditions, and probably a broader range of target conditions. This kind of machine would be a candidate for dedicated hardware.
