As a shareholder, I approve of Management's pragmatic no-bullshit style to get this company up and running without hype. but, if a bit of hype can secure the required funding under conditions that are in WAK's best interest, Management may serve WAK well by developing a battery-grade high purity aluminium story, even if Manahgement does not have a story-telling bent.
All that is required is to work up what Management said about batter-grade HPA in the March 2021 Presentation, which states, “Future Applications: Feedstock for High Purity Alumina (HPA) production. WA Kaolin’s deposits are the purest known in Australia and being a primary deposit is free of any organic matter. This purity, particularly with respect to Iron Oxide, Titanium Dioxide and Sodium content, renders WA Kaolin’s deposits an optimal feedstock for the direct synthesis of HPA 4N and 5N from kaolin ore.”
If you look at https://www.australianmining.com.au/news/gov-supports-graphite-projects-with-239m/ , you can read, “EcoGraf will receive the remaining $54 million to support the planned expansion of the company’s WA Australian Battery Anode Material Facility to 20,000 tonnes per annum.”
EcoGraph has a facility in “Battery Valley”, Kwinana. EcoGraph got Government Funding. WAK has a facility in “Battery Valley”, Kwinana – post hoc, ergo propter hoc, WAK should get similar treatment if it arrays itself in similar raiment. “Lithium Valley” is the usual term to refer to Kwinana, but “Battery Valley” is a more apt moniker.
BHP via Nickel West is part of the “Battery Valley” narrative. Its Kwinana refinery produces battery-grade nickel sulphate – see https://www.australianmining.com.au/news/bhp-closes-in-on-ev-market-with-first-nickel-sulphate/ If you add to this, the fact that EcoGraph, FYI, Covalent Lithium, Tianqi Lithium, and perhaps other relevant companies are also in Kwinana, it seems to me without being mendacious, WAK could write itself into that “story”, and then, having raised such funds as are required, do nothing different to what it now plans to do.
