This morning TPW announced 1H 22 online revenue of A$235.4 million, up 46 per cent but probably below what MYR achieves. Good for MYR.
Balancing this is the more sombre realisation shopper numbers in MYR bricks-and-mortar CBD stores in some states must still be depressed. Not long ago I was in the MYR Melbourne CBD store early at 1030, and it wasn't busy, and even by 1100 there weren't many more. But it was early on a weekday, not the weekend when stores are typically better patronised. It's telling that the opening hours of MYR stores have been reduced, though that's sensible if demand isn't there at 0900 in the morning, or 1830 at night.
I sold my shares as there's a fair chance the trading update for 1H 22 that ended on 31 January 2022 may disappoint, although the business still has a future and it may then be a reasonable time to buy back in.
