Agree, this should have been done earlier, but I suspect there has been some added pressure in recent months to lock down the tech since Daelim came on board. There has been plenty of comments made that they are looking at projects elsewhere and again working with their Korean partner. It is vital however that LCK, in their own right, ensure they lock down their patents and rights when playing with the big boys because I see a scenario where they could be trampled over. I've heard some tales told by Aussie engineers working with overseas partners where Aussie Companies were completely shafted.
By the end of the Leigh Creek Project Daelim will know exactly how this process works. If they are going to roll these plants out internationally they better make damn sure they control the keys to the IP. They will also need to roll out IP protection round the world in places they want to do business.
A critical step IMO, and perhaps as they go down the path with their partner, it has dawned on them they better filed for protection ASAP !
