Tesco just to add my little piece digging back into my old university text books on strategic marketing the unifill can be characterised as a star about to appear it will have high relative market share and high product sales growth rate . The current legislation in the USA requires health providers to use the best technology available The unifill is the best available . The other prefill providers i.e. those currently being used do not compete with the unifill i.e. their technology is out of date this has been caused by unilifes prefill syringe appearing at industrilaisation stage . The competition are about to become dogs i.e. low relative market share and low product sales growth rate ( probably negative sales growth rate ) It wont do them any good to lower price because the purchasers are required to use the best technology available.
Simmilarly barriers to new competition entry are high. They would have to devop a product that does not infringe patent law pass the FDA regulatory testing process and find the money to build a production line
