In relation to 1 above, what I understand by the term "channel partner" is an entity authorised to resell Spectur product(s) on either a sale or rental basis. In that regard, I like the reference to "a major Australian channel partner" (which may not be an overstatement, if 6 systems are in play for testing), and, the reference to "potential to grow substantially in the future". While I may be somewhat off beam here, it seems to me that a major Australian channel partner servicing the equipment requirements of the building and construction industry (for example), would be a neat fit for Spectur as the company seeks to move away from small and highly dispersed retail sales towards higher volume sales to larger clients. Of course, the price paid for having a major channel partner in an industry such as building and construction would be smaller margins, but this would presumably be offset by increased scale. In any case, the Spectur approach to achieving a potential tie up with a major Australian channel partner has all the hallmarks of the patient but successful approach taken to secure the Optus contract.

In relation to 2 above, I'm a bit excited by the Ventia contract as it provides a potentially solid start to a tie-in to the Australian Department of Defence. Again, I may be off beam here but I would imagine the the Defence Department would have been scrutinising the Spectur offering to Ventia from several perspectives including: i) the scope to provide security technology and services which are not reliant on Chinese inputs; and, ii) the uniqueness and efficacy of Spectur's security technology and services offering. The fact that the Ventia contract went through suggests to me that the DoD were happy on both counts, which bodes well for similar types of contracts at DoD related facilities.
