@Joannie - and @Margaret63 :
last year whilst I was immersed in sadness, I watched a lot of TV - and found this amazing movie called 'Dean Spanley' with the now old Peter O'Toole playing an elderly and cranky father to an adult son he bosses around in the most awful way - but his acting was just so wonderful and the story resolves beautifully . . . . . it's all about a 'dog' or 'dogs' - maybe i'll tag @big e as well - he is a dog lover
some great acting performances by all concerned and Peter O'Toole is just so wonderful and moving
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1135968/
It's called "Dean Spanley" and has a wonderful acting quartet (Brian Brown is a shonky 'Australian' can-do man, who deals with all kinds of illegally obtained goods, from Persian carpets to the coveted "Habsburg Tokayi" wine of a specific vintage) plus a wonderful female housekeeper (who is not mentioned in the credits grrrrr) - who delights in having to cook for guests with a menu other than the usual 'stew' she cooks for Peter O'Toole - a cameo performance.
Apparently there is an Australian Tokaji wine, but named differently and just as expensive. I have drunk it in Hungary but found it too sweet.
Similar to your "Barbadillo" @Justis
it's well worth your while to get it from the video store, if they still exist, but there might be one near where you live ... else wait for it to return on SBS - I might order it from Amazon . . . . .
Books - should not stay on the book shelf - if someone loves them enough to 'steal' them - so be it!!!
