True you do have a point, it has to be signed off by a clinician to be medicocolegally protected. However, you likely need less radiologists if the AI system pinpoints the abnormality quickly and radiologists are only there to confirm things. Also if the AI system proves better than the human interpretation after a few years then these comparative studies will be enough medicolegal support to bypass radiologists and only the general practioners (GP) are needed to confirm as part of their management of the patient.
