Hi MMM
I have been involved in horticulture and agriculture for over 45 years.
I do understand about soil PH.
I was really referring to the possibility of using lime as an alternative to fertiliser on years such as this.
Not for its usual purpose of altering the PH.
Lime enhances the availability of phosphates and prevents molybdenum deficiency. It promotes the activity of earthworms and nitrogen-fixing bacteria as well as the breakdown of organic material that releases nitrogen, phosphorus, sulphur and micro-elements.
