The West are threatening to get their energy supplies elsewhere if Russia invade, the potential loss of such important revenue must be a key point in the decision making process for Vlad and his boys! He cannot afford for a massive increase in internal dissension to rise in the populace, especially if they have no hard currency to purchase goods and services.
