Guo Ao Lithium Ltd./Neotec Lithium (Quebec) is proposing to construct and operate the Moblan Lithium Project (lithium mine and concentrator) located approximately 80 km northwest of the Cree Nation of Mistissini, in northern Quebec, on the territory governed by the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement. The Project is proposed to be located on Category III lands. The map below identifies the location of the proposed development.
The proposed Project is subject to the Environmental Impact Assessment and Review Process in accordance with Chapter II of theEnvironmental Quality Actas well as specific provisions applicable to Baie-James and Nord-du-Quebec in accordance with the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement requiring the active participation of the Cree Nation in protecting the rights and guarantees granted under the Agreement.
A Community Meeting is currently proposed to be held in Mistissini onTuesday, October 23,2018from5:00pm to 8:00pmat theCommercial Centre with a formal presentation at 6:00 pm.
Hatch Ltd. has been retained to undertake the environmental assessment process for the Project, while Enviro Cree has been engaged to act as a local community liaison. Comments and questions concerning any aspect of the proposed Project should be directed to either of the following:
