Vlietland Hospital enhances patient service with iSOFT
The Vlietland Hospital, Schiedam, in the Netherlands, is improving its patient service with the iSOFT Afspraken portal (appointment portal) Broka. Through this portal, patients can make online appointments with the Vlietland Hospital 24/7. Administrative tasks are thereby reduced to a minimum, shortening the patient visit and enhancing the healthcare chain by reducing its duration – a win-win situation for both patient and hospital.
The implementation of the iSOFT Afsprakenportaal Broka fits in with the hospital’s strategic objective to upgrade the service level for its patients. After the implementation of Broka, the product will also be connected to ZorgDomein, creating a direct bridge to referring GPs. In the third phase, the iSOFT Patient Service Portal will be implemented, allowing patients to register themselves online and make appointments directly.
Easily accessible solutions
With the Patient Service Portal, patients can also provide information to the hospital online, such as anamneses forms in preparation for consultation- or diabetic-related data. By providing this service portal, the Vlietland Hospital breaks down access barriers for both the patient and referring GPs. The solutions are designed to save time for all parties involved, because they reduce the duration of the hospital visit and optimise the healthcare chain. Where necessary, internal processes will be supported and simplified by this solution.
How does Broka work?
When patients have been referred by a GP, they can take a direct and active role in the continuation of their treatment. By making use of the service offered by the Vlietland Ziekenhuis, they can plan and reschedule appointments themselves. This directly reduces the internal workload because the appointment is no longer made by the registration desk at the hospital. As a result, patient satisfaction will increase because of this fast and accurate planning procedure.
Direct connection with GPs
The internet application Broka is part of the iSOFT Afsprakensuite (appointments suite). Designed for online appointment planning and referrals by GPs, Broka enables patients to make online appointments 24/7. It also performs an important role in the integration ZorgDomein, used by GPs for patient referral, with the appointment application Afspraken V5, used by the hospital.
