Trouble is, what was true in 2017 is still true. The Poms are looked in to a very expensive power contract for 35 years. Not to mention the huge cost overruns and the cost of finding an alternative power supply during the delays. Hinckley is a giant bin fire and demonstrates perfectly why nuclear wouldn't work in Australia. Did I also mention that as a baseload power station, it can't compete anyway ? It would go broke because it would be running at a loss most of the time. Morrison ? Is that sports rorts Morrison ? Is that car park rorts Morrison ? Is that money to Hillsong Morrison ? Another reason why nuclear power would be a failure in Australia.

In short, Morrison would have ripped up the ridiculous one-sided contract with the French as not in our national interest. Thus comparisons with the poms nuclear experience re Hinkley Point are moot.
