Uncle welcome back, Kata since your holding long term dont stress about day to day prices the free carry of santos alone will bring you fortunes and others holding (i sold out so dont hold at the moment that is). The price does not reflect this scenario because it is not a done deal as of yet and there is a chance santos might back away (i honestly beleive they wont)
There was a year and a half of low oil and gas prices during the GFC that drove the price of both down making it not commercially viable to drill however the lag in price and consumption will see a flurry into the gas and oil market when supplies dwindle on the impending recovery of the world. Lets put it this way when the world gets better and healthier the world consumes way more than what it is now.
Spec stocks drilling for oil during this time will be in favour of investors for the quick return on production and i do believe if santos say "YES" then nothing more to say but its great value for risk to reward.
Please dyor i currently have sold and will look at buying as i have stated when i release some funds from BCC trading play
