If you have a family friend that works in the industry or someone that can get you a foot in the door is always a great start. Failing that I would have a think about what GICS sector/s interest you the most and concentrate on research there. Materials \ mining could be one?
Secondly - I'd think about what courses you could do to improve your knowledge? I'm not sure of your educational background, but I think a post-grad or masters in Applied Finance and Investments would be good. Even better would be completing the CFA courses.
Most importantly, when you go for the interview, they might give you a company/sector or Industry or all three to analyse. You should be able to show your financial modelling, assumptions, how you arrived at them and your recommendation.
