    Don't forget it's an underground pipeline, I'd imagine an above ground would be a whole lot more complicated when it comes to land use rights etc so I can't imagine the solar paying off with that added complication when an underground allows land use above to continue largely unaffected.

    There's surely plenty of land to just build a giant solar farm if so desired.
