Unfortunately being personally hung up on that or not is not the issue.
The issue is Ukraine is a sovereign state under international law.
If the west put the blinkers on every time it gets a bit hard then we are lost imo.
I completely agree about certain groups, especially the Kurds, who have been used as cannon fodder all too often.
Its also the case that the winners get to pick the international boundaries and unfortunately the line drawers probably didn't have any concern for tribal differences when doing so.
As per usual though the countries that should be helping the Ukraine all look to the US for leadership, where there currently is none.
Its about time the French, Poms, Germans and any other country who borders Russia put up or shuts up IMO.
Of course their problem is they let themselves get hooked on Russian gas.....not unlike what the Afghan's did to Russian soldiers with opium when they invaded there, the withdrawal symptoms will be horrific.......and it has hamstrung Europe no doubt.
